History

This is a 47 year old man who presents with a scaly nodule on the shoulder.

Microscopic Findings

    Sections show a dermal cyst with numerous papillary projections and a pronounced keratotic plug. The lesion is circumscribed and demarcated from the surrounding dermis.

    Multiple acantholytic cells cells with corp ronds and other cells approaching corp grains are present.

    Acantholysis is also suprabasilar with the keratinocytes showing no significant cytologic atypia.
